About

Hi!

I’m Julia, the creator of Mindfulmess Studio.

I’m a bespoke tailor, educated by one of Europe’s most prestigious costume design companies das Gewand in Düsseldorf, Germany. After three years of dual education I further expanded my expertise by obtaining a degree in pattern making at the renowned M. Müller and Sohn Schnittschule.

However this period also marked a profound mental and spiritual crisis in my life followed by a deep depression. Navigating through the depths of this existential challenge, I embarked on a diverse career path. Despite several mental health setbacks, I now stands at the helm of my own dream-venture, dedicated to crafting one-of-a-kind garments.

Slow Fashion & Sustainability

A Mindful Approach to Fashion

I wholeheartedly embrace the principles of Slow Fashion. I firmly believe that clothing should be viewed as a long-term investment rather than a disposable commodity. I encourage a mindset shift from buying numerous disposable items to investing in a select few pieces that hold both practical and potentially future-sentimental value.

But let’s be real and face a fundamental truth: any form of production inherently carries a degree of environmental impact. The term “sustainable fashion” is paradoxical. Rather than engaging in greenwashing, I am committed to honesty and transparency.

My approach centers on making the best possible choices within the context of the garment industry and the financial capacities as a small enterprise. Presently, my commitment to sustainability translates into working with discarded post-consumer clothing and home textiles, as well as industry remnants that would end up in landfills or be incinerated. I am dedicated to maximizing the utility of these pre-existing materials, transforming them into new products and thereby extending their life-cycle.

Join me on a journey towards a better and more meaningful relationship with fashion.
